Well hello there Oscar

This is me and Oscar Wilde, I'm not sure if I've mentioned it here before but I really love Oscar Wilde. I also love Dublin, it may be grey and cold but also quite lovely. The city is very Georgian, most of the civic buildings and things like museums etc are along Neoclassical or some form of Classical revival as you can see below. Much of the residences in the old parts of town are rows and rows of Georgian terraces, some Victorian and later too. To break up the grey stones and red brick there are many lovely parks as well. These photos show you a particular side of Dublin it's worth noting - not the busy shopping area side! I'm a little overwhelmed with volumes of photos at the moment, and I'm not sure what to do with ones never posted from back home as there are so many new ones! I always dress quite dully now as I have so few clothes and when outside I'm always wearing my one coat (which was the warmest I own!) so I always look the same basically, that is the thing that I struggle with even in Melbourne where I have a few coats, I still end up looking the same a lot of the time because I'm wearing a coat!

Obligatory photograph of an animal, I can't resist.

There are loads of statues in the parks and also on the streets in the city centre.

This is Trinity College, one of the small number of universities in Dublin. I'm not sure I will tell you, dear internet, which of the universities I'm studying at, I have got to keep some air of mystery about me...

I  also got these amazing slippers, best purchase ever?

  1. Fantastically cute purchase! I'm slipper-less at the moment (the last pair I bought irritated my sensitive skin, even though they just felt like most other slippers I've had over the years, so I had to give them away) and would sooo buy a pair of those if I anyone here sold them, too.
